I purchased Mozart Math when my children were in preschool.  The system was so easy to use. I found that the program was well organized, the concepts built naturally on one another, and the activities were so much fun that it felt more like playing than learning!  The big surprise is that years later my oldest daughter is now using Mozart Math with her piano students, two of whom are adults with special needs.  I would recommend this program for preschool teachers, music instructors and parents who want to help their kids get a leg up before starting more formal music lessons.  It is great!

Although music theory can be a very difficult subject for young children, MozartMath helped stimulate my students’ curiosity and keep their attention through fun and active activities such as coloring, cutting, pasting, and playing different percussion instruments.  In addition, this book is written in simple English to allow English language learners grasp music ideas and concepts more easily. Last, but certainly not least, I very much enjoyed teaching Mozart Math and it was amazing to see that my students were able to read and play simple rhythmic patterns and to recognize different types of notes at the end of the year.

I am a music teacher at a local elementary school. I have a 3-year old class, a 4-year old class, a kindergarten class, and a first grade class. Each class has one music lesson a week, and I use the MozartMath program as my main curriculum. At our recent program the children played rhythm patterns, sang the songs, and talked about the composers. The parents were so amazed at how much music theory the children had learned in such a short amount of time. The program was so easy for me to use and really cut down on my preparation time. It is a really fun program!

MozartMath is a great program!!  I used the program at home when my children were preschoolers and kindergarteners.  Two days a week we would have “MozartMath Time,” completing one lesson per session.  My children thoroughly enjoyed the program and were always excited for each lesson.  They especially liked the games that are scheduled towards the end of the program.  The games use many of the concepts that the children had learned throughout the program, and they wanted to play them over and over.  When my oldest child started piano lessons, his teacher told me that she could tell that he had some prior musical training.  And the thanks for that goes to Mozart Math!  I highly recommend this program for those wanting to give their children a head start in music and math.

The Mozart Smart program has a variety of prepared materials.  The teacher’s manual has numerous lesson plans to complement the other lessons.  Here are a few examples of the numerous ways the MozartSmart Program can be integrated into a regular music program:

MozartMath works well for English Language Learners, which we have at Korea International School.  I use the flash cards a lot since it is important that the children have visuals in learning English.  The songs on the CD are perfect for English Language Learners.  The songs are short and easy to learn the words to. We use the sand blocks a lot in math concepts and their English counting has gotten better, because of it.

The parents are really impressed that the children have learned about several composers.    The children are always amazed the composer lived such a long time ago and the music is still with us.

The kindergarteners enjoy having their own MozartMath Puzzle Activity Card to make their own music. This creates ownership of their music.  Now that they are familiar with the Puzzle Activity Card, they are writing notes on the card and creating music.

We have used the sand blocks with other songs, besides the Mozart Smart CD songs.  We integrate the Mozart Smart lesson into the full lesson of the day.

We begin a music lesson listening to a composer and using a conductor stick.  It creates quietness and uses their listening skills.  We end the class by playing a Mozart Smart game that is already prepared.  We divide into two groups to reinforce the notes.  This creates a togetherness and focuses their attention before departing to another class.

The children at Korea International School have learned their music notes in a fun way through MozartMath.  Many are taking piano outside of class now because of it.  They have a real love for music and the numerous ways to learn it.
